Joshua Tree/Hounds Shoot

So I just came back from a film shoot in Joshua Tree, and may I say that this was just the getaway I needed.  Out in the desert, no water, sleeping bags, miles of hiking, might as well could have been called a camping trip.  The sunsets and sunrises were gorgeous.

This was the first western that I have shot, and might I add, things are very difficult without a matte box.  We had a lot of unwanted sunflares and could not open up our aperture do to lack of ND filters.  But in all, it was a great experience and had great shots to add my cinematography reel.

Here’s a screen grab from one of my favorite shots of the film.

Next Stop… Joshua Tree!

Hey guys!  So in about a week, I’ll be in Joshua Tree shooting a western short film.  Equipment we’ll be looking to bring for the camera rig includes a couple of lenses (Sigma 18-50 f/2.8 and Canon 50 f/1.8), a matte box, some neutral density filters, tripod, mic, and a couple of reflectors.

I’ve actually never been to Joshua Tree but apparently it looks like this

but with my luck, I think it’s going to be more like

which isn’t a bad thing, because that still looks awesome.  I just have hard time with the cold.

Steven and I have been trying to start a couple of projects, a comedy and a drama.  If you guys have any suggestions on what you’d like to see be made into a webseries, feel free to drop me a suggestion!  I’m going to have to cut this one short because I don’t want to take anything away from the next week :P.  Adios!
